3 Ways to Keep Memories With Your Significant Other

Isabelle and Chris

I don’t know about you, but I love keeping memories – everything from pictures to receipts to pamphlets. This is especially true when it comes to memories with my boyfriend. One day we’ll get too old to remember some amazing places we’ve been to and some beautiful things we’ve seen. My boyfriend and I created a few ways to remember important dates and memories so that it can last forever. I want to show my children one day and laugh about it decades from now. If you have a significant other, I would strongly recommend finding ways to keep your memories special.

Keeping Memories Forever

1. “Date” Book

My boyfriend and I started a “date” book about two weeks after we started dating (once this post goes up, we will have been together for 11 months!) At first, my mom handed my boyfriend, Chris, a mead notebook so that he could practice his cursive writing, when all of a sudden it turned into much more. We started drawing hearts and cute doodles. Until it struck me that we should write down the dates we had went on so far since knowing each other. After that point, I began to write in what we call “The BOOK” every time we would hangout, even if it wasn’t a formal date. We paste in receipts from restaurants, movie ticket stubs, and sometimes even paper menus from pizzerias. Even though this book takes a lot of work, it will definitely be worth it once you get to look back on it years later.

2. “The BOX”

Yup, we have “The BOOK” and “The BOX.” “The BOX” is something couples usually have (at least from what I’ve seen in movies lol). Here I keep bigger momentums that wouldn’t be able to fit in “The BOOK.” Some of these have been playbills, menus, and so on. It’s also great for keeping presents from your significant other. I keep a necklace inside and also cards from each month anniversary along with birthday and holiday cards. I bought my box at Marshall’s for $5 and it’s really pretty!

3. Take Tons of Pictures

I know this one seems pretty simple but by taking loads of pictures you’ll be able to create amazing memories and creative scrapbooks. Every few weeks I’ll transfer the pictures from my phone or camera onto my laptop and upload them to a website called, Snapfish, you can check out that site here. This site lets you upload all your pictures and organize them into albums. Later, you can get these pictures printed and mailed to your home for only $0.09 a piece. Right now we have a photo album where we keep pretty much every picture we have ever taken together, in chronological order. This is a great way to remember the order in which events happened throughout your relationship. Snapfish also has amazing gift ideas and ways to keep memories with personalized collages, scrapbooks, quilts, mugs, and so much more: all using your pictures!!

Isabelle
